Entertaining and adventurous play rugs for kids bedrooms

Boys under the of 8 will interact with or actually use the scene on the carpet to play. Older boys will most likely just use it for sitting on to play with their other toys. If your child likes to play with lego then it is best not to have one with many colors in it. It will make small pieces hard to find and pick up later.

Girls of all ages will most likely just use a bedroom rug to sit, read, and play with other toys with their friends. My daughters all played with barbies up until the age of 10, we had barbie rugs and kate and ashley rugs.

Right around age 9 they started thinking these were to young looking for them. Music, dancing and reading seemed to be their main interest and their friends. Because girls mature faster than boys it really is best to use something that is more decorative in nature or more of a room accent.
