Solar shades that still allow you to view the scenery outside

Of all the shades that I have purchased for my home these solar screens are by far the best window treatment ever.

I love the view from my kitchen window and have always been put off with blinds because the block too much of my view.

Regular shades block everything out or darken the room too much, now you never have to lose your sun-exposed view. Block the bright light and damaging UV rays with a solar screen roller shade.

  Solar screens, also called solar shades, are a type of roller window shade generally made from a synthetic mesh fabric, like a screen. Solar window shades come in different levels of opaqueness, or openness, depending on how much light control you desire - the higher the percentage of openness of the solar shade, the more light the shade lets in. Solar shades are an excellent option for windows with a view. Solar screens reduce glare and improve energy efficiency by reducing solar heat gain and blocking harmful UV rays
  

The brand of choice is DaVinci it is a high quality see through window shade with moderate light blocking capabilities and just the right amount of  view-through.

Ordering Note: The width or your solar roller shade will be from tip to tip of the operating mechanism. For your solar screen to operate properly, the fabric may be up to 1" narrower than the width ordered, creating a 1/2" light gap on each side. If this concerns you consider ordering an outside mounted window shade. And just incase you are wondering about the difference between a solar and translucent window shade, there is none.

I ordered my solar shades online (a little scary but it turned out fine) and they arrived very quickly, in about 10 days. Easy to install (had my dad do it) and operate. The product is just what I expected.

There was a horizontal flaw (looked like seaming) smack dab in the middle of the screen material when fully rolled down. It was quite small in size but nonetheless was very visible. I called the company and within a week (probably less) I had a replacement shade. They didn't even ask me to return the flawed shade, which was huge.

Solar screen and shade roller assembly information

A spring roller provides convenient spring action to retract and lower shade. These usually come with an optional decorative ring pull.

Shades with a spring roller will be made with the fabric up to 1" narrower than the width ordered, creating a 1/2" light gap on each side. For best light control, select an outside mount and/or standard roll (instead of reverse roll).

Cassette System is an integrated valance system and continuous cord loop operating mechanism. The stylish fabric fascia is easy to install and hides the fabric roll, eliminating the need for a top treatment.

A continuous cord loop system has clutch assembly that provides the mechanical advantage needed to raise large shades.

Note: shades with a continuous cord will be made with the fabric approximately 1 3/8" narrower than the width ordered, creating a significant light gap on each side. Better light control is available by selecting a spring roller and/or an outside mount shade, with standard roll (instead of reverse roll)

Difference between a Reverse Roll and standard roll shade
Fabric comes off the front of the shade, hiding the fabric roll. The fabric on a standard roll shade comes off the back of the roll, which exposes both the roll and the back of the fabric. Reverse roll shades may offer less light control because the fabric hangs further from the window glass.
