All the fun can happen in your games room with the right accessories 

Game room accessories can be wall art, decorative mirrors or simply a really cool dart board mounted on a wall. The main concern or theme for this room should be fun and the ability to move around it freely. Meaning don't clog this room up with too many things to do. Your teenagers and friends will automatically be attracted to this room if there are different activities in each area of the room without being too crowded. 

Other storage accessories should be close by but not right up beside the pool table. If this is a large room with other games at the other end, pool cue wall racks make a nice room divider. You will probably want a stool or two next to this or a small rec-room bar.

Tables to play games on are the main feature

Multi game tables and card tables are your number one concern in this room. They normally fall into several categories, poker, backgammon, chess, air hockey and combination dinning game tables. These are all on the larger size especially when you seat comfortable chairs around them. This is why they are normally part of your games room furniture and not in a family room.

Most often this the main feature of this room is a pool table. Lighting should be a decorative pool table light hanging over the middle of the table.

If you have an entertainment area in this room like a bar or side counter area you will definitely want to put in a couple of pub style bar stools. They are great for extra seating around card tables or for seating near small spaces.

If this room is also your main TV room or play room then I would stay away from dartboards and pool tables if you have a young family, you need a very big room to accommodate these and they are noisy if someone is trying to watch TV at the other end. Back to family room accessories
