Switch those dried out flowers for beautiful art glass for your table

Tired of old dusty dried flowers in the center of your tables? Most of the time we think of this style of home decor as stained glass windows but that is only a small part of it. The more interesting designs produced are glass vases and glass bowls.

If you have a beautiful wood table, it's a shame to cover it up with a table cloth. Why not compliment your furniture with a fused glass decoration that balances the beauty of your table with the elegance of hand blown glass.

Fused glass

Fused glass is a form of art, they are handcrafted and created with vivid colors to engage your mind. Most items can be classified as collectibles from each individual artist.

An easy definition of fused glass is like sandwiching together two glass slabs with enamel paints in the middle. The blend of colors that it forms can be very striking and unusual. Because of the way they are crafted no two are identical. So you are really getting an original work of art from the artist that sculpted the glass piece. Most people are familiar with  glass vases and bowls and then like to add glass hearts, paper weights and hand painted glass jars to their collection.

Murano glass art

Glass art like Murano glass is known for its liberal colors and fascinating contours.  Many Italians immigrated to Brazil from the island of Murano near Venice. Today Antonio Carlos, is said to be one to the best glass designers in Brazil, he was taught by Aldo Bonora, the first Italian master from Murano.

Another very popular glass design is produced Mexican artisans

Hand crafted glassware from mexican artists is started by mixing silicate sand with other components that gives shine to the glass. They then blend and melt the silica compounds and blow each piece individually. As they blow the glass into shape colors are added as inspiration strikes. The glass piece is cooled and then polished. Favored glassware made by mexican artists is usually vases, plates, fruit bowls and glasses.
