Kitchen counter stools - Solve your seating problem in the kitchen with a counter height stool

The kitchen counter is the most convenient spot to be seated for a quick breakfast or when you have company and they want to visit, but you still need to get things done in the kitchen.

Kitchen counter bar stools are sold in traditional, contemporary and modern designs. The materials they are made of is normally wood or metal that comes with or without a padded seat.

For a traditional country kitchen, wooden kitchen stools with a back support are very popular kitchen chairs.  A swivel back stool can be more convenient if you are moving around a lot and someone is trying to talk to you.

Kitchen stools are a different size than a stool you would use at a desk or table.  So you need to measure your dining table and counter to see which stool height is going to be most comfortable. 

Measuring counters and tables for stool height

There is nothing worse than trying to talk to someone that is moving around a kitchen and then then turning their chair every time you stop in one place for a minute.

The most important feature is the stool height, which will be defined by the table or counter height. For size, measure the table height and counter height to be sure it will fit properly. Measure the distance from the floor to the top of the table. It is recommended to have a 10-12 inch difference between your table top and seat so this would mean a 42" tabletop works best with a 30 inch high stool.

The height of a counter or island is normally around 35"-36" high. So the most comfortable seating height to match would be in the 24 to 26 inch range. Counter chairs are typically used in casual dining setups or for extra seating in a games room or outdoor dining area.
