European styled wood high chair.

This is really a unique style for a baby or toddler high chair. It is a fully adjustable, wooden chair that adjusts to suit children from infancy through adolescence. This is a great feature so that you don’t have to purchase another seat for them before they are big enough for the adult chairs at your table.

It comes with a machine washable high quality cushion available in different colors like black, blue, red, sage or chambray. This wooden nursery chair has an easy to clean tray that can be stored off the back of the safety guard to seat even the smallest children at the family table. When your toddler is ready to site at the table, the chair is the perfect seat for the toddler and the adjustable footrest adds plenty of support. The seat is also adjustable so your little on can sit at the table comfortably. The footrest can be removed and the seat lowered to be a regular chair when your child is all grown up.

Available in three different wood finishes – cherry, whitewash and natural. It is sure to fit perfectly into any kitchen and it is lightweight and easy to carry if need be. The design of this Svan product is sure to fit into any décor, even though this one is a very unique item. This high chair is definitely worth checking out. It may cost a bit more than some of the others on the market, but due to its versatility, it is worth it

What to consider when buying

When purchasing a high chair for the first time you need to know what you would like it to be made of. Wooden high chairs are very popular because they will last for many years and can be passed on down the family line as a keep sake. If you need to you can always refinish it to keep it looking great and pass it on done through the family.

The other consideration when buying nursery furniture, like all baby furniture is safety. All highchairs need to have some type of seat belt so your child does not slip through the bottom. This is especially true even for wood high chairs. A good sturdy tray is also needed. One important point is with trays make sure that you don't pinch little fingers when attaching the tray.

Is it curtains for you

When decorating our windows at home, blinds just don't seem to be enough and many times we will want to soften up the look of a room. This is where you can shine by using different curtain styles and ideas.

You must first decide on whether you want an informal or formal look in the room. Noramly this is defined on whether the curtain has a lining or not. Living rooms are normaly given an informal look, where dining rooms are decorated using a formal theme.

Curtains can used either to decorate your windows or your view! Use different textured fabrics to bring color into a room, block the light, to filter and soften the light.

Mix and match your curtians with the color of your blinds. For instance, stand back and look at what type of furniture you have in the room, if you have a lot of small tables, or many sharp angles coming from shelves and furniture, you might want to go with side panel curtains tucked to the side to show off the color of your blinds. This will give the wall that your window is on a softer look and draw your eyes to the overall colors and not your blinds. It will also take out the sharp angles of your window and leave you with more of an impression of color.

Finding the right fabric is a matter of trial and error and texture, first choice may not drape as well as you wanted or come in a certain color. To help the process go more smoothly, follow these steps.

What is Feng Shui in decorating

You here a lot about feng shui decorating these days. I am not sure I buy into the whole philosophy of this type of decorating but I do believe they are sound decorating principles to follow, they do make sense. Feng shui is not a decorating style. Rather, it is a discipline with guidelines that are compatible with many different decorating styles. Basically it is arranging your furniture according to how it looks and feels when you enter a room. Round curves and symmetry are important as is not blocking an entrance or doorway with clutter. You want to create a welcoming atmosphere that gives people a good feeling in tune with nature. If you are going to use this type of discipline to decorate your home you should use in all rooms.

Ceramic Masks

wall decor - ceramic mask

Looking for a unique accent for your games room or den. This ceramic mask will give your walls not only a splash jof color but an interesting focal point. This is a pre hispanic mask designed by artists from Peru. It is an impressive decorative accent for walls or to dispaly on a shelf.

This fascinating piece is created by master artisan Salomon Ruiz, adapting ancient motifs from the Mochica and Chavin cultures of pre-Hispanic Peru to a modern context. The striking colors and unusual shapes combine to create a dramatic effect. Elaborated by hand from clay, Ruiz uses a unique process in which the piece is first molded and baked at a temperature of 1832F, after which he applies a synthetic enamel base before adding purpurina, a natural dye. The finished piece is then bathed in a coat of clear enamel, which protects and enhances the vivid and expressive use of color.

We have more information on our main site about cultural masks on this page. Plus you can search for other home decor ideas.

We have selections in the most popular categories of masks from around the world.
Each country has its own regions that produce the most interesting designs. Most are tribabl masks and can be hung on a wall or placed on a stand.

African masks come from the regions fo Benin, Congo and Zaire, Ivory coast and Mali to Gabon and Nigeria. These are all west african regional and tribal masks.

Balinese masks come in theatrical and animal motif masks.

Masks from the Andes region are perhaps the most interesting as far as culture goes and definetly the most colorful. There are four main groupings of these masks Andean copper masks, archaeological and inca masks, handpainted and media or theatrical masks.

Other interesting masks from around the world include mexican glass masks, brazilian and carnival masks, masks from india, buddha masks thai dance and thai elephant and wood masks.

Furniture Slipcovers

Have your furniture slip into something more comfortable

There are several relatively inexpensive things you can do to give your home a great new look. Slipcovers are one way that you can create a new look in your home without the expense of new furniture. The fact that you can change the look of your furniture in a few minutes with slipcovers is why I highly recommend slipcovers as an inexpensive way to update the look of your home.

For summer cottages a furniture cover is really ideal when your furniture is starting to look a little worn and tired. Now you don't need to pack a new couch or sofa chair to the cabin and break your back. Simply recover them and they will look brand new. American made or imported blinds

It is no surprise that American factories in many industries are feeling pricing pressures from overseas countries, such as China and Mexico. With China's labor costs much lower compared to those in American blind factories, it is no wonder that window blinds imported from China have become so popular.

It is widely believed that China will continue with it's fast export growth next year, but the export growth rate is expected to drop to 21 per cent the following year, down 14 percentage points from this year.
Some negative factors will challenge China's export growth next year. Rising energy costs and raw material prices affect the international competitiveness of their products. Coal, electricity, and oil supply shortages, as well as limited transportation, hamper some export-oriented enterprises' production and the fulfillment of their contracts.

A growing number of anti-dumping and anti-subsidy charges launched by other countries also pose a challenge to China's exports.

It's a fact that most factories, while not buying complete blinds, still buy the slats and components from china and import them to the United States. American window blind factories assemble them and custom-make one blind at a time for individual consumers. These types of window treatments are the kind most retailers sell. These are higher in quality and have features and options not available on mass-produced blinds. Some of these options include more color choices, decorative cloth tapes, special easy lifting mechanisms, motorization, cordless (especially good for added safety), and top-down/bottom-up features.
