Bellacor is a bizrate certified store and is tested as hacker safe on a daily basis. It is an online home decor store that you can feel comfortable shop at. Most meople are familiar with bellacor lighting, but did you know that they are one of the bigger sites for shopping for home furnishings, kitchen decor, bedding and outdoor decor. Sometimes I find it a little hard to shop at bellacor because I like t search by seeing pictures. Hammocks
Decormotif is offically opening up for the summer our outdoor patio furniture section of our online store.

Selection guide for buying a hammock or sling furniture
Rope hammocks are mostly made of a cotton or a polyester blend. Cotton is harder to dry out, which makes it more susceptible to mildew, but it is more comfortable than polyester. Cotton is better suited for dry climates, polyester will last you longer and is better for very humid areas like Florida. Rope hammocks can be suspended between 2 trees or poles or mounted on a hammock stand. These are NOT recommended if you have small children.
Quilted hammocks are the best choice for cool climates because of the double layer of fabric they tend to be warmer. This style uses spreader bars at the top and bottom to keep the hammock from collapsing, they are also reversible. Brazilian hammocks are best for families with small children. Light filtering blinds
How do I allow more natural light into a room without it fading my furniture?
That's a good question and an important one in the interior design industry. We don't always want to have our blinds closed or slanted so much that we can't see outside. What you don't want to use in a living room or family room are room darkening blinds. Ideally you want to use a cellular blind that allows just the right amount of light into the room.

There are two ways of doing this - cellular shades and pleated shades. They are pull cord operated and can have the same color backing if you want. With cellular blinds you can choose the size of the pleat. Pleated shades come in a standard pleat size. Normally these blinds come with a white backing, with your choice of about 25 different colors to choose from. The colored fabric side is the the part that faces outside. These types of allow just the right amount of sunlight into a room.

Gazing balls
Gazing balls are very cool lawn ornaments
I was looking over at my neighbors yard the other evening as it was getting dark and noticed these glowing balls out on his lawn. I got curious so I went over and looked to see what they were. Pete came out and said they were gazing balls that were solar powered.

These I thought were very cool lawn ornaments, after talking a bit more about these gazing balls we thought of a few other spots that they could be placed. One spot that we thought would be a good place for a party setting was in his pool floating around.

Hardwood furniture offers the best return on your investment, and beleive me goog wood patio furniture like teakwood is an investment. Teak patio furniture will stand up to years of seasonal wear and tear.
With most hardwood outdoor furniture it weathers and teak weathers the best, to a fine silver gray that fits into narural surroundings. The nice part of this is it does not degrade the wood. You should however coat the teak furniture with a water repellent oil, on the bottom of the legs to about 4 inches up. This is because this is the part that may sit in water and get damaged. Water runs of the top and gathers at the bottom so it should be protected. You can oil all of the furniture to keep it looking new every year.
Metal outdoor furniture can last just as long if you take a few precautions. When buying avoid pieces with an uneven finish or cracks in the weld. Check the metal for rust spots every spring and paint over any chips in the finish. You can extend the life of the paint and the metal by rubbing it down every spring with a car wax or furniture polish to prevent rust.

Wallpapering paneling
We are going to get off the area rug topic for a bit to answer a question from shelby. If anyone of our readers has done this before please enter your comments on how this went for you.
Shelby asked about the best choice in wallpaper for panelling.
If you are going to wallpaper over paneling you will need to prime the paneling first. Homedepot has primer just for this. Otherwise the glue on the back of the paper will not hold for that long.
As far as choosing a type of wallpaper a heav vinyl or foil wallpaper would be best, you will need to try and hide the grooves.
Choose a print pattern with a lighter background for the best effect.or stripes going up and down, these usually work the best for hiding irregularities in walls. I have used a textured wallpaper for this with pretty good success.
Wallpaper rolls are fairly close the width of the grooves on paneling, but don't try to match the edges up with a groove, it won't stick that good. Cut your first sheet so that the edges don't line up.

- choose wallpaper and fabric then clock on material. Grass cloth would work nicely or a fabric backed vinyl.

Cotton Rugs
