Glass coffee tables
I was talking to a friend of mine the other day about coffee tables. She wanted to buy a glass coffee table for the family room but was worried about her grandchildren coming over and having the toddlers fall onto the corner of it. This is a concern for everyone whether the table has a glass top or wood top. You can buy padded sleeves to place around them to stop this but she didn't want to hall it out every time someone popped over for a quick cup of coffee.
Because I own a round glass coffee table and none of my kids have ever hurt themselves by falling on a corner she decided to buy one of these.

If you want to buy one of these for a room, size and shape will depend really on whether you want a cocktail table or a larger sized coffee table in front of the sofa. You can buy different bases to match your other home decor, wicker, metal framed or wood, all three of these look good with hardwood or laminate floors.
One design that really caught our eye is the howard millere clock table. This is a very interesting design that would be a nice addition to a family room or games room.
