Teenagers and your furniture
As a parent raising 4 kids I know what happens to your furniture when they all hit the teenage years. My beautiful furniture, mostly the couch and loveseat all took quite a beating. They didnt seem to share the same respect for my living room furniture as I did.
I had to have someone come in and professionally clean my furniture, once I even had to re-upholster my dining room chairs. Not anymore I found it considerably cheaper to buy dining chair covers and couch covers. I like the textured slipcovers better because they don't seem to show the dirt as much.
I found it fairly easy to put these on after I ironed out the wrinkles from the packaging, it only took my daughter and myself half an hour to do a large t cushion love seat and three cushioned couch.
I found the best colors for the family room to be the earthy tones, browns and beige, these seemed to go better with my flooring. The only problem I had was I used a solid color on one and with my laminate floors it was a little dull. Which turned out really well for me because I got to buy new accent rugs. You can see who has accent rugs on sale here. If you want to buy the slipcover first go here to ready made slipcovers and see what surefit is offering on sale, by the way if you are thinking of doing a complete decorating job you can match accent pillows to go with them.
