Blinds inside windows
By now every one has seen the ads on tv for window blinds that are installed inside your windows. It looks like a pretty cool window treatment, but is it cost effective. I am not talking about installing roman shades or mini blinds inside the window frame. This new style requires you to buy replacement windows and then have them profesionally installed. By the information that I have seen on tv, I didn't notice if you could even open up these windows to allow air to come in, so you would be limited to where you want these installed. Having said all that I still think they are a very unique window treatment, that would be an interesting addition to a modern home.
The cost I beleive would be prohibitive. I wonder how much it would be to replace these blinds if you were redecorating and then had to change colors. As it is now you can buy vertical blinds for as little as $10 dollars, which makes it cheap and affordable to change the look of a room any time you like. If you do purchase this new style of these window shades it would be in your best interests to pick a nuetral color.
