Is it curtains for you
When decorating our windows at home, blinds just don't seem to be enough and many times we will want to soften up the look of a room. This is where you can shine by using different curtain styles and ideas.
You must first decide on whether you want an informal or formal look in the room. Noramly this is defined on whether the curtain has a lining or not. Living rooms are normaly given an informal look, where dining rooms are decorated using a formal theme.
Curtains can used either to decorate your windows or your view! Use different textured fabrics to bring color into a room, block the light, to filter and soften the light.
Mix and match your curtians with the color of your blinds. For instance, stand back and look at what type of furniture you have in the room, if you have a lot of small tables, or many sharp angles coming from shelves and furniture, you might want to go with side panel curtains tucked to the side to show off the color of your blinds. This will give the wall that your window is on a softer look and draw your eyes to the overall colors and not your blinds. It will also take out the sharp angles of your window and leave you with more of an impression of color.
